CH30 Filter Specifications
Product code: CH30
Manufacturer: Magnum Filters
Made in: New Zealand
Outside diameter: 120mm
Length: 296mm
Top end cap: Handle
Bottom end cap: 46mm MPT fine thread
Filter type: Pleated spa and pool filter cartridge
Application: Stoked Stainless spas and plunge pools using CH30
Important – Check the Thread
The CH30 uses a 46mm fine MPT thread.
Spa cartridges with a similar overall size can use different thread types, so we recommend checking the cartridge dimensions and bottom connection before ordering rather than relying on appearance alone.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning helps maintain water flow through your spa filtration system and can extend the useful life of your cartridge.
Stoked Stainless recommends regularly rotating and cleaning the filter and suggests keeping a second cartridge available so one can be cleaned while the other remains in service.
For routine maintenance:
-
Switch the spa pump off before removing the cartridge.
-
Remove the CH30 filter from the spa.
-
Thoroughly rinse debris from between the pleats using a garden hose.
-
Periodically soak the cartridge in an appropriate spa filter cleaning solution.
-
Rinse thoroughly after soaking.
-
Allow the cleaned cartridge to dry before storing or returning it to your filter rotation.
Stoked Stainless recommends washing the spa filter approximately fortnightly, although more frequent cleaning may be required with heavy spa use.
Avoid using a high-pressure water blaster directly on the pleated filter media, as excessive pressure can damage the cartridge.
Installing Your CH30 Filter
Access to the filter varies slightly between Stoked Stainless spa models, so follow the filter-access instructions supplied with your particular spa.
Once you have accessed the cartridge:
-
Switch the circulation pump off.
-
Unscrew the existing filter using the top handle.
-
Check that the threaded fitting is clean and free from debris.
-
Screw the replacement CH30 cartridge onto the fitting by hand.
-
Tighten only until the cartridge is correctly seated.
-
Do not force or overtighten the 46mm fine thread.
-
Restart the spa and check that normal water circulation has returned.
Why Keep Two CH30 Filters?
Having two cartridges makes spa maintenance considerably easier.
While one filter is being cleaned and allowed to dry, the second cartridge can remain in the spa. Rotating two clean filters also means you are less likely to keep using a heavily loaded cartridge simply because the spa is in use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the correct filter for a Stoked Stainless spa?
This CH30 is designed for Stoked Stainless spa and plunge-pool models that specify the CH30 cartridge. Check that your existing filter measures approximately 120mm diameter × 296mm long and has a 46mm fine MPT threaded base.
Is the CH30 spa filter made in New Zealand?
Yes. This cartridge is manufactured in New Zealand by Magnum Filters.
Can the CH30 filter be washed and reused?
Yes. It is a reusable pleated cartridge and should be cleaned regularly. Rinse between the pleats thoroughly and periodically use an appropriate spa filter cleaning solution.
How often should I clean my Stoked spa filter?
Stoked Stainless recommends washing the filter approximately fortnightly. Spas receiving heavy use may require more frequent cleaning.
How often should I replace the CH30 cartridge?
There is no fixed replacement interval because cartridge life depends on spa usage, water conditions and cleaning frequency.
Consider replacing the filter if:
-
the pleated media becomes damaged or torn
-
the end caps or thread are damaged
-
the cartridge remains heavily discoloured after cleaning
-
cleaning no longer restores normal water flow
-
the pleats have become permanently clogged or distorted
Can I use another cartridge that looks the same size?
Not necessarily. Spa cartridges can have very similar dimensions but different bottom fittings. The CH30 requires a 46mm fine MPT threaded connection, so check the dimensions and thread before ordering.
Not Sure if This Is Your Filter?
Send us your spa model, or a photo of your existing filter showing the top, bottom and overall cartridge, and we can help identify the correct replacement.
