For installations needing a 90‑degree change of direction
Fitting it correctly
Pick the orientation that matches your existing plumbing before ordering, since the two aren't interchangeable once installed. To fit, remove the old connector from the valve head, seat the new O-ring and split ring, thread the replacement into place, then secure with the WS1 nut.
Pro tip
If your old fitting cracked rather than simply worked loose, check the pipework on either side for stress or misalignment before installing the new one. A fitting under constant strain will crack again even after a clean replacement.
FAQs
How do I choose between straight and elbow?
Match it to the direction your existing pipework runs into the valve. Straight keeps the connection in line, elbow turns it 90 degrees.
Will this fit any 1" valve?
It's built specifically for Clack WS1 valves and in/out heads in the 27 gpm class. Check your valve model before ordering, since BSPT threading won't seal correctly against other thread standards.
Do I need anything else to install it?
No. Each orientation comes with the WS1 nut, split ring, and O-ring needed for a complete, watertight connection.
Can I change orientation after installing one?
Only if your plumbing layout supports the different angle, since switching changes the direction water flows out of the valve. Check clearances first.
