Description

Omnipure ELF-1M-P 1 Micron NSF 53 Cyst Reduction Water Filter

The Omnipure ELF-1M-P is a high-capacity 1 micron carbon block cartridge providing certified reduction of Cryptosporidium, Giardia and other cysts, along with chlorine, unpleasant taste and odour.

It also contains a scale inhibitor to help reduce limescale build-up in downstream appliances and equipment.

Designed for residential and commercial drinking water applications, the ELF-1M-P combines high-capacity filtration with a simple quick-change cartridge system.

Certified Filtration Performance

  • 1 micron carbon block filtration

  • >99.99% reduction of cysts, Cryptosporidium and Giardia

  • >95% chlorine reduction

  • Reduces unpleasant taste and odour

  • Built-in scale inhibitor

  • NSF/ANSI 42 certified for chlorine, taste and odour reduction

  • NSF/ANSI 53 certified for cyst reduction

  • High-capacity quick-change cartridge

Alternative to the Puretec X7-R System

The Omnipure ELF-1M-P offers similar key filtration functions to the Puretec X7-R, including 1 micron filtration, cyst reduction, chlorine reduction and scale control.

Important: The Omnipure ELF-1M-P cartridge does not fit directly into a Puretec X7 filter head.

If converting from a Puretec X7 system, select one of our ELF Head + Cartridge Kit options. Once the Omnipure ELF head has been installed, future replacements require only the ELF-1M-P cartridge.

This provides a cost-effective alternative to continuing with proprietary Puretec X7-R replacement cartridges.

Options Available

Choose from:

  • ELF-1M-P Cartridge Only

  • ELF Head Only – 3/8" Quick Connect

  • ELF Head Only – 15mm Male Thread

  • ELF Head + ELF-1M-P Cartridge – 3/8" Quick Connect

  • ELF Head + ELF-1M-P Cartridge – 15mm Male Thread

If you already have a compatible standard Omnipure ELF head, select Cartridge Only.

Standard ELF / Large Bayonet Connection

The ELF-1M-P on this page uses the standard Omnipure ELF connection, sometimes referred to as the Large Bayonet connection.

It is different from our separately listed:

ELF-1M-P-SB – Small Bayonet

The standard ELF and SB cartridges are not interchangeable, so please check your existing head before ordering.

If you are unsure which version you have, send us a photo of your existing cartridge and filter head and we can help identify it.

Ideal For

  • Underbench drinking water filtration

  • Residential drinking water systems

  • Commercial drinking water systems

  • Cafés and food-service applications

  • Water coolers

  • Pre- and post-RO filtration

  • Applications requiring certified Cryptosporidium and Giardia cyst reduction

Scale Protection

The ELF-1M-P contains a scale inhibitor to help reduce the formation of limescale deposits in downstream equipment.

Please note: Scale inhibition is different from water softening. The cartridge does not physically remove calcium and magnesium hardness minerals from the water.

If actual hardness removal is required, an ion-exchange water softener should be used.

Cartridge Replacement

Replace the cartridge when:

  • The rated capacity is reached

  • Water flow becomes noticeably restricted

  • Chlorine taste or odour begins to return

  • The scale inhibitor service interval is reached

For applications relying on scale protection, replacement at approximately 6 months is recommended.

Installing a New Cartridge

After installing a new ELF-1M-P cartridge:

  1. Check that the cartridge is securely locked into the filter head.

  2. Slowly restore the water supply.

  3. Check all connections carefully for leaks.

  4. Flush the new cartridge for 10 minutes before drinking the water.

Important

Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the filtration system.

The ELF-1M-P is certified for cyst reduction, but activated carbon filtration is not designed to remove bacteria or viruses.

For untreated rain, bore or surface water, appropriate disinfection such as a correctly sized UV water treatment system may also be required.
