Important – Check the Size and Thread
The CH19 has a 46mm fine MPT threaded base.
Several spa and bath cartridges can look very similar but have different lengths or thread types. We recommend checking both the dimensions and threaded connection on your existing filter before ordering.
The CH19 should measure approximately:
120mm diameter × 203mm long
with a 46mm fine threaded bottom connection.
Cleaning Your CH19 Filter
Keeping the cartridge clean is important for maintaining good circulation and filtration.
Stoked Stainless recommends regularly washing the filter and keeping a second cartridge available so the filters can be rotated as required.
For routine maintenance:
-
Switch the circulation system off before removing the cartridge.
-
Remove the CH19 filter from the bath.
-
Thoroughly rinse between the pleats with a garden hose.
-
Periodically use an appropriate spa filter cleaning solution to remove accumulated contaminants.
-
Rinse the cartridge thoroughly after cleaning.
-
Allow it to dry before storing or returning it to your filter rotation.
Stoked Stainless recommends changing and washing the filter approximately fortnightly, although more frequent cleaning may be necessary depending on use.
Avoid cleaning the cartridge with a high-pressure water blaster, as excessive pressure can damage the pleated filter media.
Installing the CH19 Filter
Filter access should be carried out in accordance with the instructions for your Stoked Stainless Electric Bath.
Once you have accessed the cartridge:
-
Switch the circulation pump off.
-
Use the top handle to unscrew the existing cartridge from its threaded fitting.
-
Check the threaded connection for any debris.
-
Screw the new CH19 cartridge onto the fitting by hand.
-
Tighten until the filter is correctly seated.
-
Do not force or overtighten the fine thread.
-
Restart the circulation system and check for normal water flow.
Why Keep a Spare CH19 Filter?
Keeping two CH19 cartridges makes regular maintenance much easier.
When one cartridge is removed for cleaning, the second can be fitted immediately. This means the cleaned filter can be properly rinsed and allowed to dry without leaving the bath without filtration.
Regular rotation can also make it easier to keep your filtration system operating efficiently.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CH19 the correct filter for my Stoked Stainless bath?
The CH19 is used with the Stoked Stainless Electric Bath that specifies a CH19 cartridge.
Check that your existing filter measures approximately 120mm diameter × 203mm long and has a 46mm fine MPT threaded base.
Is the CH19 made in New Zealand?
Yes. The Magnum CH19 cartridge is manufactured in New Zealand by Magnum Filters.
What is the difference between the Stoked CH19 and CH30 filters?
Both filters have a 118mm outside diameter and 46mm fine MPT threaded connection, but they are different lengths.
CH19: 120mm diameter × 203mm long
CH30: 120mm diameter × 296mm long
The CH19 is used with the Stoked Stainless Electric Bath, while the longer CH30 is used in various Stoked Stainless spa and plunge-pool models.
Always check the cartridge length before ordering.
Can the CH19 filter be washed?
Yes. The CH19 is a washable pleated filter cartridge. Regularly rinse debris from between the pleats and periodically use an appropriate spa filter cleaning solution.
How often should I clean the CH19?
Stoked Stainless recommends washing/changing the filter approximately fortnightly.
The required frequency can vary depending on how often the bath is used and the amount of contamination entering the water.
How often should I replace the CH19 cartridge?
There is no fixed replacement period because cartridge life depends on usage, water conditions and how regularly it is cleaned.
Replace the cartridge when:
-
the pleated filter media becomes damaged or torn
-
the thread or end caps are damaged
-
the pleats become permanently clogged or distorted
-
cleaning no longer restores normal water flow
-
the cartridge can no longer be cleaned effectively
Can I use a CH30 instead of a CH19?
No. Although the CH19 and CH30 have the same 118mm diameter and 46mm fine-thread fitting, the CH30 is considerably longer.
Use the cartridge specified for your Stoked Stainless model.
